Abdur Rahim Biswas completed his Bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronics from Bangladesh Institute of Technology, Rajshahi and he received his Master’s in Electronics and Telecommunications degree from University of Gävle, Sweden in 2005. From September 2005 to June 2008 he was a research associate at Communication Laboratory in Technical University Dresden, Germany. Where, he was involved in different industrial, nation and EU funded projects. At the beginning, he worked for reliable data communication with Bluetooth that was a national funded project. Later, he worked in an industrial funded project, “Measurement and Channel modeling of ISM Band”, EU founded projects PULSERS II and Galileo GPS/ Indoor Navigation and Positioning. He is going to receive his Doctor degree from Technical University Dresden in 2008 and the title of his thesis is” Non-cooperative coexistence and mitigation technique between UWB and WiMax systems’’. He has been involved in European UWB regulations bodies being a guest member in the CEPT ECC Task Group (TG3) where his contribution is to give technical supports to define the Detect and Avoid (DAA) UWB mitigation technique for ongoing regulation process. He jointed CREATE-NET, Italy as a research staff in BROADWAYS GROUP where he is currently working in the arena of cognitive UWB radio and coexistence within EUWB a FP7 project. He is an active reviewer in various well known international conferences. He has around 15 publications.
