Bio

Dr. Yabin Ye received his B.E. and Ph. D. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1997 and 2002, respectively. From September 2002 to July 2004, he was a Research Scientist with the Institute for Infocomm Research (I 2 R), Singapore. Since August 2004, he has been a Senior Researcher with Create-Net, Trento, Italy. Dr. Ye has authored and co-authored over thirty papers and has one Chinese patent. He received the Second Class Prize of Science and Technology Progress from Ministry of Education of The People's Republic of China on 2004 and several awards from Tsinghua University. He has led or taken part in more than 10 International, National and Industrial projects. He is the founding member of ChinaCom (International Conference on Communications and Networking in China) and severs as the Steering Committee co-chair. He was the general vice co-chairs of ChinaCom2006, the technical program committee member of IEEE Globecom2007 (IEEE Global Communications Conference) and MobiArch2006 (First IEEE/ACM Workshop on Mobility in the Evolving Internet Architecture). He is a member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

 

 

 

 

Research Focus
  • Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical networks including physical and logical topology design, routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) algorithms, traffic grooming, multi-granularity switching, light trail technology, etc.
  • Generalized multi-protocol label switching (GMPLS), automatic switched optical networks (ASON)
  • Hybrid optical/wireless communications
  • Wavelength conversion technologies and tunable external cavity semiconductor laser
