Vision

The Vision of the ECC group at Create-Net may be summarized as follows:

To engineer novel technologies by translating research results into solutions for real life applications.

We implement this vision in the following ways:

  • by providing companies and SMEs deploying Next Generation Networks solutions with professional support, in the form of consulting services and a test environment
  • by providing the Autnomous Province of Trento with trusted advisory services for key initiatives such as the e-Society and e-Welfare plans (especially the fixed broadband wireless project and VoIP migration within the province) and the Distretto Tecnologico Trentino initiative.
  • by collaborating in the preparation and execution of R&D applied projects originated by local initiatives.
  • by translating research performed by the research areas at CREATE-NET into proofs of concept, demos and prototypes linked, which might eventually lead to commercial exploitation in the medium to long term.
In order to facilitate the process of the transition of research ideas into prototypes and demos, the ECC has been organized in such a way to provide CREATE-NET research areas with engineering competences (in terms of human resources allocated to the various research projects) and services (in terms of demo set-up and lab set-up/management).


ECC is furthermore in charge of CREATE-NET's internal IT infrastructure and logistics.
