Daniele Miorandi Research Interests
My main research interests lie in the area of large scale, complex stochastic networked systems. Most of my work has been in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT), and in particular in the networking area. There I have carried out various activities aiming at modelling large scale communication networks (in particular wireless ones), in order to assess and evaluate their performance and then optimize their behaviour by putting in place appropriate control and management strategies. In the last years I have broadened the scope of my research, to include networked systems enabled by ICT (in particular smart grids, with focus on distributed/renewable energy sources) and on socio-technical systems (whereby the power of computer and people join forces to tackle global societal challenges).
