From 2004 up to 2008 he was working as an assistant lecturer at WIT, teaching a number of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. During the summer of 2006 he was a visiting research student at Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) in Singapore. The main focus of his work is on development of concepts to allow independent living of patients that experience a decline of cognitive functions. Cognitive decline may be age related, or caused by various dementias, such as Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease patients are of particular interest, given the increasing prevalence of the disease.
Dr. Osmani has been a reviewer for a number of conferences and journals including Elseiver’s JNCA, Troubador’s JPCC, NOMS2008, AmI-07, CODS2007, IEEEVTC 2007, PerCom2007, UIC2007.
He is a member of IEEE and ACM.
