Best Demonstration award to EUWB Project
The integrated project (IP) EUWB, supported by the European Union's 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development, received the Best Demonstration Stand award during the Future Network Mobile Summit 2011 which took place in Warsaw on June 15th -17th.
This annual event, supported by the European Commission, regularly attracts hundreds of delegates from large European industries and research organizations to share experiences and research results, identify future trends, discuss and identify opportunities for business and international research collaboration in the ICT arena.
Among more than 40 stands, the European Commission awarded the EUWB’s stand which included 10 different real life demos which proved the viability for UWB technologies for future markets.
In addition to visiting the technology demonstrations and participating in informal discussions with the project partner’s technical staff, visitors could pick up a copy of the newly-published White Paper on Ultra-Wideband (UWB) issued by the EUWB project consortium and enjoy watching the latest release of a video describing the project.
A considerable number of conference attendees visited the exhibit, including researchers, business people and members of the European Commission, providing ample evidence of a high level of interest in the project’s objectives and results.
The EUWB project was launched in 2008 and its main goal is to further upgrading and finally integrating recently developed UWB radio technologies in four key industry application areas: Heterogeneous Network, Public Transport, Automotive, Home environment.
The project team consists of 26 major industrial, highly regarded academic and excellent consulting partners and among them CREATE-NET is leading the Work Package applying cognitive technologies in UWB radio for coexistence with other radio systems.
