Research
Research activities within the UBiNT area are organised around three main axes.
User behaviour and mobility
Leader: Venet Osmani [venet.osmani
create-net.org]
The research within the group is focused on sensing and processing context information of individuals and groups to understand human behaviour, mobility patterns and group dynamics. The group is also interested how the individual behaviour affects the group behaviour and vice versa. The research is carried out through the use of unobtrusive monitoring technologies in order to minimise influence on the behaviour. A major application of the research work is on investigation of correlation between behaviour patterns and mental wellbeing.
Human-centered design
Leader: Silvia Gabrieli [silvia.gabrieli
create-net.org]
The group applies state of the art methods of HCI and Interaction Design to investigate user requirements, prototype interactive solutions and test them in the field. This also includes a longitudinal analysis of their usage in order to understand users’ preferential choices and their evolution over time. A main application area concerns the design of feedback and persuasive technologies for personal healthcare and sustainable mobility.
Future Interactive Technologies
Leader: Cristina Costa [cristina.costa
create-net.org]
The group activity focuses on cutting-edge interactive technologies, combining natural, multimodal and physical interaction and media. Verification of technologies is conducted trough the implementation and testing of prototypes. Research activities includes localized and distributed interaction, interactive technologies for education and playful education.
