CREATE-NET researchers chaired the IOT360 Summer school
Andrey Somov and Raffaele Giaffreda researchers of the RIoT group at CREATE-NET chaired the IoT360 Summer School on the Internet of Things. The School was organised under the umbrella of IoT360 Summit collocated events and took place in Rome on October 29 – November 1, 2014.
The high level goal of the School was to provide participants with the knowledge of what it takes to deliver an IoT product from scratch. Consequently, the School program was structured in four strongly coupled days dedicated respectively to ‘innovation’, ‘pillar technologies’, ‘development’ and ‘hands-on’. A good measure of the School success was the high level of interaction and discussions generated after each lecture provided by leading experts from the IoT arena representing recently formed SMEs (Worldsensing, EVRYTHNG), big industry (Verizon, Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs and Intel) as well as universities and research centres (University of Surrey, CREATE-NET). At the end of the school the attendees had a chance to ‘pitch and sell’ their projects developed during the ‘IoT hands-on’ session and win prizes sponsored by Intel as well as Almanac and COMPOSE projects.
