On December 2nd Silvia Gabrielli, Area Head of the Wellbeing & Healthy Living  group in CREATE-NET, took part to the workshop “Work-life balance and new technologies” organized in the framework of the Family Festival initiative.

The workshop took place at the MUSE and dealt with the use of technology in order to support a better conciliation of work with family life and thus improve the overall quality of people’s lives.

In particular, Silvia Gabrielli presented, on behalf of Oscar Mayora (Area Head of Mobile and Ubiquitous Technologies group), the initial results of a research study funded by EIT ICT Labs called “Turnout Burnout”. The project focuses on how mobile technologies can help better monitoring stress at work and prevent burnout; “Turnout Burnout” is carried out in collaboration with GPI, Kaleidoscopio, TrentoRise, Philips and Eindhoven University of Technology.

Moreover Silvia showed examples of how mobile applications can be used to deploy tailored interventions to support stress coping skills and workers’ wellbeing in daily life.

The event was moderated by Luciano Malfer from the Family Agency of the Autonomous Province of Trento and gathered an high number of attendees who showed strong interest in the topic.
