Cristina Costa Profile

Cristina Costa was born in Brazil, in 1971. She received the "Laurea" (M.Sc.) degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genoa, Italy, in 1996 with a thesis on image registration. As an exchange student she worked at the VSSP group at Surrey University, UK, developing algorithms for image-processing applications. She continued her studies receiving, in 1997, the professional master degree in Telematics and Multimedia Applications from COREP, Politecnico di Torino, Italy.

From 1997 to 2001 she worked as a researcher in the Internet Services Division of Telecom Italia Lab (formerly CSELT), Italy, the research branch of Telecom Italia, where she matured experience on Electronic Commerce and Network Security. In March 2005 she received the PhD degree from the International Graduate School of Information and Communication Technologies, University of Trento, working on image and video transmission over wireless networks.

In 2005 she joined CREATE-NET, working in the MISE group, now UBiNT area.
